Pregnancy Pilates at Studio PAM Pilates (min. 3 persons, max. 6 persons)
As soon as possible a 12-week course starts on Thursday from 17:30 till 18:30. The class will be taught by Priscilla Severo R. Cortez. She is also currently pregnant.
Pregnancy is one of the most important events in your life. Pilates strengthens the pelvic floor muscles and the oblique and deep abdominal muscles with specific exercises. It is precisely these muscles that weaken during pregnancy. The Pilates exercises also often bring the baby into the right position for birth.
Note: Ask your doctor or midwife for advice beforehand.
Here are some of the benefits of Pilates during pregnancy:
* Improving your posture and body position during and after pregnancy
*Prevention of body alienation *Preparation for weight gain and weight bearing
*Preparing the pelvic area for birth
*Attention to maintaining abdominal functions
*Working on preventing Rectus diastasis (When the abdominal wall is under strong tension for a long period of time, such as during pregnancy, the linea alba can weaken, causing the mm. recti to sag. Pregnant women who suffer from this discomfort are not allowed to do any abdominal exercises. This is because excessive tension can cause the linea alba to tear. This is also called diastasis)
*Avoiding as much as possible problems such as back pain, constipation, oedema, varicose veins and cramps
*A faster recovery after the birth
Cost: € 300 Participation from 14- or 16-weeks pregnancy.
Pregnant women with physical complaints other than those associated with pregnancy can take part in a Personal Coaching programme. This course consists of exercises on Pilates equipment to keep fit and it is also a good preparation for a safe delivery.
Note: This is not a preparation for childbirth, there are other courses for that!
